There are 3 types of custom range hoods for you to choose from.
WALL MOUNT CUSTOM RANGE HOOD: Finished on 3 sides and mounted to the wall directly above your range.
ISLAND MOUNT CUSTOM RANGE HOOD:Finished on 4 sides and hanging from the ceiling above the island.
UNDER-CABINET MOUNT CUSTOM RANGE HOOD:Attached to the underside of the cabinet above your cooking area.
To determine the right size, measure the width of your cooking surface. Your kitchen range hood should be at least as wide as your cooktop, but for optimal performance, it should extend 3 inches on either side.
The power of a range hood is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). For most residential kitchens, a custom range hood with 600-900 CFM is sufficient. However, this depends on the size of your kitchen and the type of cooking you do. High-heat cooking or a larger kitchen may require a more powerful hood.
There are two main types of ventilation systems: ducted and ductless. Ducted systems expel air outside your home, while ductless systems filter and recirculate the air. The choice depends on your kitchen layout and whether you can install ductwork.
