SIZE GUIDE
The following pictures indicate how to choose the appropriate size for your custom range hood:

Wall Mount Range Hood Size Guide:
-Range Hood Height : Ceiling Height - A - B(Stove Height)
-A (distance from cooktop to bottom of range hood): 30"-36"
-Range Hood Width : as Wide as cooktop or 3"-6" Wider
-Range Hood Depth : 21"-24"

Island Mount Range Hood Size Guide:
-Range Hood Height : Ceiling Height - A - B(Stove Height)
-A (distance from cooktop to bottom of range hood): 30"-36"
-Range Hood Width : 3"-6" Wider than cooktop
-Range Hood Depth : 27"
HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT RANGE HOOD SIZE
Follow our professional guide to find the perfect Width, Depth, and Height for your Fobest custom range hood.
1. Range Hood Width: The "Overlap" Rule
To capture all smoke and odors effectively, your range hood should ideally be slightly wider than your cooktop.
Wall Mount Installation: We recommend a hood that is 3" to 6" wider than your cooktop (e.g., a 36" hood for a 30" range). At a minimum, it must be as wide as the cooktop.
Island Mount Installation: Because islands are subject to more cross-drafts, your hood must be 3" to 6" wider than the cooktop to create a proper "capture area."
2. Range Hood Depth: Maximizing Coverage
The depth ensures that the front burners of your stove are fully covered.
Standard Wall Hoods: Typically 21" to 24" deep. This provides a sleek look while covering the primary cooking zones.
Pro-Series & Island Hoods: We recommend a depth of 27" for high-output professional ranges or island setups to ensure no smoke escapes the sides.
3. Range Hood Height & Mounting Distance
Finding the "Sweet Spot" (Distance A in our diagrams) is critical for performance and safety.
The Mounting Height (Distance from Cooktop)
The Standard: Your hood should be installed 30" to 36" above the cooking surface.
Too Low: Risk of heat damage to the internal components and obstruction of your cooking view.
Too High: The CFM (airflow) will lose efficiency, allowing steam and grease to dissipate before reaching the filters.
Calculating the Total Hood Height
To determine how tall your custom hood should be, use this simple formula:
Hood Height = Ceiling Height - Mounting Height (A) - Stove Height (B)
Note: Standard Stove Height (B) is usually 36".
*Example Scenario:
Ceiling Height: 108" (This is a standard 9-foot ceiling).
Stove Height (B): 36" (The industry standard).
Mounting Height (A): 33" (Picking the "Sweet Spot" between 30" and 36").
Hood Height = Ceiling Height(108" - Mounting Height (A)33" - Stove Height (B)36"
Result: 39"H
4.Quick Size Reference Table
| Cooktop Width | Recommended Hood Width | Ideal Depth | Recommended CFM |
| 30" Range | 30" - 36" | 21" - 24" | 600 CFM |
| 36" Range | 36" - 42" | 21" - 24" | 600 CFM |
| 48" Range | 48" - 54" | 24" - 27" | 1000 CFM+ |
| 60" Range | 60" - 66" | 24" - 27" | 1200 CFM+ |
